it seems that easydns is not a free service and i'm not able to test their
services

Mike can you test now with this version in smedev
I would to set to closed as now with this version
# rpm -qa smeserver-ddclient
smeserver-ddclient-1.0.0-28.el5.sme
i have something different than mike
# ps -e | grep ddclient
7117 ? 00:00:00 ddclient
i suppose that mike used the old version bugged of smeserver-ddclient
