Yes, that was all, done, went back and started again from fresh snapshot..while
the upgrade procedure is workable I think it is more than a basic user would be
happy with.
Either automate it as part of the 1.8 install or decalre that 1.4 requires a
mnual upgrade to 1.8 and that it is fraught with danger :-) just my opinion
