hi nicola
in order to install a new version of dovecot, you could try to read this
https://wikit.firewall-services.com/doku.php/smedev/dovecot but i worry that it
is highly 'testing'....you are welcome to test and report here.
For the port of smeserver-sogo to SME9 you should direct a mail to developers,
the nethesis TEAM and see with them if some works are planned.
You could ask that to them by the irc they have also on freenode.

if no work is planned then we could ask to the nethesis team the last src.rpm
available and start to maintain on our own this package. Of course we need a
dedicated maintainer to this package.
I know them a bit they are really friendly men :)
