Refer Comment 7 for a workaround, ie downgrade rsync
& Comment 13 and/or Comment 16 for code solution (a possible solution)
ie edit /sbin/e-smith/affa
You may have to find the correct location in your version ie the rc5 version,
under
$rsyncLocal,
