Bug ID: 8609
Summary: qpsmptd dnsbl rejects local domain mail
Classification: Contribs
Product: SME Contribs
Version: 8.1
Hardware: ---
OS: ---
Status: CONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: smeserver-wbl
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
QA Contact: [email protected]
I noticed whilst abroad I was having issues sending mail to a user on my local
domain.
I was using Secure/authenticated SMTP to my server on port 465
The mail was sent as follows :
To : [email protected]
CC : [email protected]
Ironically the mail sent to the offsite domain was accepted and sent on, but
the CC mail to a local recipient got blocked with DNSBL as the sending IP
(Vodafone in Germany) was on a block list.
I got round this by adding my local domain to whitelistsenders.
However, I think that only works due to my hack in
http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8327
I will try and look at this further when I am back but not sure if I can test
very easily as I am not sure if my German Vodafone SIM card will have enough
credit to allow me to roam when home.
I realise this is an 'edge' case but should be noted and considered.
