Nice it was not easy to understand what it occurred :p
The difference for sme8 and sme9 vs sme7 is
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/ldap-update-simple, which needs an user or a list
of users as argument, else it give an error.
First Jpp did a loop with an expand-template and lauch that script for each
user, now it is launched one time with an array instead of one user.
It should be more faster ???
can you provide a patch for the modification you propose ?
