suggest we use Michael's suggestion that the cron job contains this:
0 0 * * * root sleep $[ $RANDOM \% 600 ]; perl /usr/bin/spamfilter-stats-7.pl
xxx
where xxx is the current contents (including the recent additions of the
sqpsmtpd logs).
