It must be escapped obn the shell, but not in the config. It's catching IP in
the qpsmtpd jail on my system, and probably on yours too. You can check with
fail2ban-client status qpsmtpd
You can also check the regex is correct by running:
fail2ban-regex /var/log/qpsmtpd/current /etc/fail2ban/filter.d/qpsmtpd.conf
Please re-open if it's not banning any host, or if this last command doesn't
match anything
