Apparently the configuration for the smeserver version of fail2ban needs to be
updated somewhat as I get warning messages from the fail2ban startup every time
I restart our SME 9.0 server after an update. It doesn't seem to keep fail2ban
from running as I still get the occasional emails telling me an IP has been
banned for some reason or another so I would say this isn't a critical bug but
one that should probably be addressed some time. I've finally found the errors
listed in the messages log after updating the configuration to unban the IP for
our security DVR so I could post this bug notice. The error list from the
messages log are copied below:
