It's a hook within horde that adds the domain name as part of the login
process. Since imp3, maybe even 2, on this distro, the user credentials have
been saved as user@domain in the horde mysql db tables. So to preserve that,
this hook was adapted.
I am also not a PHP programmer, so I searched for what worked for me, and
adapted it. I took your suggestion and have been running it at home, and I
don't see any issues with it, so I added it. I've pushed all updates to my
contribs directory. If someone wants to re-write the hook, I'm fine with that.
I also changed the product category to contrib, as horde 5 is currently only a
contrib under sme 9.x.
