that is on purpose. I choose to get the most up to date version available
through asterisk dev and freepbx dev, as asterisk offers yum repo with compiled
rpm against centos 6.
This will allow us to get last version of Freepbx and Asterisk, rather than not
anymore supported version of asterisk offered by the upstream vendor...

I will see if the rpm can be installed and can run correctly without it.
However, it does not hurt to have it even if we do not use it, but it helps in
case of clients having some hardware.
