situation :
using open-vpn bridge to connect to the local network of a smeserver. this
smeserver could be the gateway or behind another SME server acting as gateway.

roadwarrior pcc connected to the lan with the open vpn bridge contribs

it is possible to connect to 
https://hostname/server-manager (with this being the hostname of the SME)
https://192.168.0.1/server-manager ( with this ip being the local ip of the
SME)

however impossible to succesfully log to

https://hostname.domain.com/server-manager

where hostname.domain.com points to 192.168.0.1 when trying to resolve it from
the client

in the log you can find 

# tail -f /var/log/httpd/admin_error_log
