--- Comment #2 from Marcel <[email protected]> ---
The client config is attached. This client config also works on Win7 machines
(I just tested it).

This client config works without a problem if I connect to a SME8 machine with
the following software versions installed:
openvpn --version
OpenVPN 2.3.14 x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu [SSL (OpenSSL)] [LZO] [EPOLL] [PKCS11]
[MH] [IPv6] built on Dec 7 2016
library versions: OpenSSL 0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 01 Jul 2008, LZO 2.02
smeserver-openvpn-routed.noarch 0.1.5-1.el5.fws

On a SM9 machine the same config show these versions:
openvpn --version
OpenVPN 2.3.14 x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu [SSL (OpenSSL)] [LZO] [EPOLL] [PKCS11]
[MH] [IPv6] built on Dec 7 2016
library versions: OpenSSL 1.0.1e-fips 11 Feb 2013, LZO 2.03
smeserver-openvpn-routed.noarch 0.1.5-1.el6.fws

The only difference is the OpenSSL version number.

Without adjustments 1 and 2 on the SME9 server config, both client and server
generate HMAC decryption errors, it won't work.
With the adjustments 1 and 2 in de server config it works ok.
