--- Comment #88 from John Crisp <[email protected]> ---
OK,

I am not sure why it can't resolve/connect on startup. There are a number of
issues in the forums but they say 'fix your DNS' which isn't helpful if it
seems to be working....

I deleted the DB and restarted and it seemed happier, BUT the admin key changes
and it obviously doesn't update the Setting in config show teamspeak

Despite the startup error it seems to be up and running after a reboot and I
can get a terminal with:

telnet 127.0.0.1 10011

But I cannot login at all... grrrrrr

Some things to think about:

Ports.

https://support.teamspeakusa.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/44/16/which-ports-does-the-teamspeak-3-server-use

Are you using this locally only or over the interwebs? Here are the ports you
need open for remote access ie INBOUND connections - OUTBOUND are never
blocked):

teamspeak=service
    TCPPorts=30033,10011
    UDPPort=9987
    UserPassword=laskjdlkasjdlkjdlkjsad
    access=public
    status=enabled

if it is local only then set access to private.

I then tried using the proper client top login, but the server version is to
old so...

I gave 3.5.x a go, but hit this restart loop error which seems to have no
solution.

Some other notes:

After 3.1.x you need to have something to accept the licence:

https://support.teamspeakusa.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/344/0/how-to-accept-the-server-license-agreement-server--310

touch .ts3server_license_accepted

"All TeamSpeak 3 servers will now require a license, existing licenses (AAL,
ATHP, NPL) will automatically be updated to the new format. The server download
will contain a default license for 32 slots, which will expire 6 months after
release."

https://support.teamspeakusa.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/339/0/new-accounting-system

I don't have the kit or time to really to test this beyond making sure the
server is running. It survives a reboot on my testbox after clearing the DBs,
so you need to go and do some leg work yourself.
