so issue is with the auth.
i think we use pwauth. and used to have an hacked one. which has been overuled
by a more recent one from epel

ok from reading both options should be good. probably the mod_authnz_pam needs
some config in etc pam.d to allow access to shadow file
well finally pam is not designed to read shadow. so external and pwauth are
keepers
need to rebuild pwauth
