install smeserver-automysqlbackup
signal-event post-upgrade for whatever reason you want
reboot
system hang for hours on blue screen of bootstrap consle
log in a different tty , htop and check what is doing bootstrap console :
running /etc/e-smith/bootstrap-console-save/S15autmyasqlbackup
which does
/sbin/e-smith/expand-template /etc/e-smith/sql/init/automysqlbackup
/usr/bin/systemctl restart mysql.init

however mysql.init can not start until mariadb is started, |
which can not be done until bootstrap console has ended, |
which can not be done until mysql.init...------>----------------
this should be changed by a simple addition in templates2expand of
/etc/e-smith/sql/init/automysqlbackup
and just delete this file
