you could do a # rpm -q firewalld to confirm its dead
result on my VM
[root@sme10 ~]# rpm -q smeserver-fail2ban
package smeserver-fail2ban is not installed
[root@sme10 ~]# rpm -q firewalld
package firewalld is not installed
No epel # yum install smeserver-fail2ban --enablerepo=smecontribs
