Brian Read I have an odd one with the mailstats contrib. My busiest mailserver
stops sending events to the database at midnight, then only restarts logging
them at a random time later in the day. I have deleted and purged and
reinstalled mailstats a couple of times but this server still does this. The
others are fine. I know you are busy and this is not important, just to let you
know

Thanks Gary Douglas . Can you fill in a bug for it? Can you confim that logs
exists for those empty times in journalctl? Otherwise it sounds more like a
problem with Mariadb. Third thought - Disc or RAM?
Gary Douglas @gary.douglas10:38
Not sure what you want me to 'journalctl' ?

journalctl -u qpsmtpd

Look for any incidents with mariadb at that time in
/var/log/mariadb/mariadb.log
Gary Douglas @gary.douglas11:25
last mariadb event was after restarting for updates;
2026-02-16 6:48:47 0 [Note] /usr/sbin/mariadbd: ready for connections.
Version: '11.4.10-MariaDB' socket: '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' port: 0 MariaDB

Mailstats has its own log - /var/log/mailstats/mailstats.log -please look for
any incidents in there for that time. There should be a start and finish
message for each day.

Brian don't worry about this now, I interrupted you. Something to think about.
My other servers work fine, just this one.
not sure I should add a bug yet, and think only way to resolve is to work on
this server

yes, but it is a record of the incident, if i see it happen somewhere else, the
combination of circumstances might point the finger. Actually i am between jobs
just now! Please bug it with the evidence that we've accumulated.
