[Cooker-firewall] gaming?

Is there any particular reason why a base install would not allow a user to
play games such as Half-Life or Quake3 from behind the MandrakeSecurity SNF?
The person with the problem has used manually written IPMASQ scripts in the
past but is having trouble now.  I don't have any specifics at the moment,
just hoping that there is something that may be known by simply mentioning
the subject of gaming.
