How about the mserver system for dialing out interfaces? I use it at
home on our Mandrake 7.2 internet connection shareing box (haven't
bothered with a firewall there yet). It has clients for windows, mac,
Gnome/GTK, KDE/Qt, command line unix etc. I find it better for
dial-on-demand (although there are some features I would like to see
added to it). Unfortuntaley mserver is no longer maintained .... but it
really is cool, and mandy Mandrake users use it, even though there are
no mandrake packages. I have made Mandrake RPMs of the Gnome and KDE
clients if anyone is interested ....

You can use all the packages available for Mandrake 7.2, since almost
all the critical packages are identical. It may however be better to use
a stock Mandrake (8.x) for this, since the packages will be updated
(unless you keep updating by hand the updates from 7.2).
I assume SNF2 will be based on either 8.0 or 8.1?
