Not as far as I'm aware... > 2. Is it possible to easily make an SNF-8.2 from a standard Mdk 8.2? Ish, I built mine from cooker but I assume 8.2 would work just the same. I installed a base system and then added the snf-* packages for the backend. Unfortunatly mandrakes adsl config conflicted with my adsl setup (speedtouch) so I backed it out. In effect I'm now running a cooker build on my router. > 3. If so, what do you need to do in order build an installable CD of > it. There is a MakeCD script on the cooker distribution that will build you an iso image of cooker (but it only does a base install compared to the options you get on the packaged product). Howver you probably only want the base packages if you are building a router. > > Any response/input will be appreciated, thanks > > -Ernst The only other thing I've found is the firewalling was hard to set up (probably due to the affor mentioned conflicts on my install). But seeing as you want an iptables based setup you may want to write your own firewall script anyway? Bastille and the like are great for point and click firewall configs but if you want full control (traffic shapping, qdisc's etc..) you want to roll your own :-) Alex www.bennee.com/~alex/
