The updated drakxtools should help find your modem. There was an
interesting bug in serial_probe, that bypassed ttyS0, which is where most
Mac modems live. On a PC, you would rarely find one there. Even so, you
should still be able to use the modem, whether harddrake knows about it or
not. I'm not sure what the Mandrake Control Center is doing that gets it
to work for you , but I suspect it is loading the modules needed by ppp.
Can you send an
/sbin/lsmod
before and after running the Mandrake Control Center?
