If anyone wants to try a new kernel 2.4.6, there is one up on my ftp area:

It's an SMP variety, no modules yet, I'm still working out some issue on
the RPM. In particular I'm interested in you folks who had issue in
leaving X on 2.4.4. I left out BenH's video stuff as when I tried to
apply the patch, most of it already seemed to be in place. I can rework
it if it's still an issue for you folks. It also runs OK on a single
processor machine here.
BTW - I don't know if anyone has noticed, but I've been building in the
endian-safe ReiserFS stuff in the 2.4 series kernels too. I tried it out
here for a while a couple kernels back and it seemed to work out OK.
