So this just started recently? Hmmm... is there a difference between
the version of X from the beta to the final/RC? If there is, we can
scan the changelog and see what changed. If not, then it must be
something else.

Hmmm... at least yours is being detected although it seems to make no
difference for the end result. Truly strange. While using Xpmac is
ok, I suppose, I'd much rather be using X 4.0.3 so the screen drawing
isn't so darn slow.
