Heya, guys.
I just got the ISOs for Mandrake 8.0/PPC installed on my iMac, and I'm
having some difficulty.
If I log in as a regular user, I can't use CTRL-C or CTRL-Z to
kill/suspend jobs. It's as if the control characters are being ignored. If
I log in as root, I can use these keys. If I log in as a user and "su" to
root, I get the message "bash: no job control in this shell" before the
root user gets a command prompt.
If I try to ssh to another host from such a session, I get the message
"You have no controlling tty. Cannot read passphrase."
Obviously, these are all interrelated, and probably have a simple
solution, but I haven't a clue where to start looking.
I'm not using X at the moment, which I imagine is significant to the
problem (since I'd being using /dev/tty* instead of /dev/pts/*).
