I don't believe yaboot cares where the bootstrap is, I put it first as a matter of convenience, to make sure it gets created. The only limitation I know is on some early iMacs, the kernel, and most likely the bootstrap, need to be under the 6GB limit. On my revB, I use a shared /boot for several installs to get around this problem.
