I'll look into that, but since I can get it to work without a problem by starting from the console, I'll just to that. I usually boot into console anyway. Do you recall what conflicts were mentioned? Was it in the Mandrake-cooker or Mandrake user list? I don't normally keep up with those lists, but I figure I can look in the archives. dc
