Actually 36000 is what is preferred these days.  If you're talking about
the Applescript wrapper, I found that BootX does not keep the ramdisk
value setting when you save the settings, but you should see it redefined
in the kernel arguments as ramdisk_size=xxxxx.

So you are unable to install?  In stage 1 you're not given the opportunuty
to load any modules when you pick CD install?  If that's the case, a
workaround would be to try another method, say ftp, and then select the
SCSI module, and cancel out to go back to CD install.
