Hello!
Thu, 21 Feb 2002 Miguel Beccari wrote about errors with his
PowerMac 8500. I have identical problems with my old 7200 / 90 with
32 mb memory. I want to use it as a router and firewall, so only 32 mb
is
sufficient.
1. I booted with BootX, setting ramdisk 32000, using all.gz as
ramdisk,
choosing text install.
2. Not recognized my cdrom. Picking module by hand, works.
3. Choosed Expert install
4. Selecting language (tried virtually every language)
5. Stops with "failed to read kmap magic".
Any ideas?
Graphical install probably works, but I think I have too little
memory.
When I tried to Kernel 2.2 it stops with kernel Panic, rebooting 180
seconds...
If it helps I can provide detailed information about it.
