Stew, on 7500, I still cannot install. Still using beta2 iso CDs.
Did move my Quantum FireBall Tm1280 to internal bus. No difference. Then, I made 3 partitions with MacOS tool on fireball disk. Now I can proceed until I have to reuse partitions for Linux. Latest try was to use all except some minor driver partitions for Apple stuff and give it to 3 linux partitions: /, swap and /home. When pressing FORMAT or CONTINUE button - FREEZE and reboot of 7500. MacOS will then complain on this disk (wrong format), so I launch partitioning tool (v1.7.2) again. In case, I do not re-initialize fireball disk with MacOS tool after FREEZE or CONTINUE issue (but pdisk on Mac is telling me that partitions exist with correct type Apple_UNIX_SVR2), installer crashes in 2nd stage immediately with panic. I also saw after crash that 2 partitions had identical names - i renamed using pdisk to / and /home (which did not happen in installer) - again installer crashes in 2nd stage immediately with panic. Found some very old complaints on net on: - sequence of partitions - some users claim not to use swap as last on disk - kick out fireball disk - change SCSI ids to not use 0 (I'm using that id for my IBM disk) - IBM and TI options per disk to disable (will try this too) Still some time left this weekend......"the show must go on" Michael
