But if Stew is say a month behind you and he makes a patch and releases a 2.4.18-6.2mdk kernel and you're already on 12mdk there can be one heck of a lot of difference between the two. On PPC that can be the difference between working and not working and that is ultimately the problem. Also things between those two things could be done to make 12 incompatible with 8.2/PPC. Because of the changes being eventually merged back in would make this set of files on the mirrors pretty small. Only changes that didn't get merged back in by the time a release versionw as done say 8.2, would have to be on the mirrors. You totally ignored my GPL point. Even if those changes do get rolled back into the x86 SRPMS eventually. That would not be a *CORRESPONDING* release to the binary releases on PPC. I think this part of the GPL is pretty straightforward.
