FYI to users of older powerbooks. If you enable the feature that my
patch adds you may not be able to use the volume and brightness buttons.

Some words to your first patch regarding switching off the
powermanagement. I decided not to built it into the main release because
it is too radical. It switched all the PMU polling off but especially
owner of older Powerbooks need the PMU polling to get their volume and
brightness keys working.
But your desire won't be forgotten. I am working on a completly
restructured PBButtons version to get rid of some limitations and make
it wholly configurable. In this version I will implement that you could
choose what to do if battery is critically low and much more. But there
is some work to do till then.
