Screen goes black with iMac after startx

Hi all,

I am experiencing serious problems. I cannot get into the gui anymore, I
don't know why. I did not do anything special. Each time after logging in
and typing startx, my screen goes black and nothing happens. I rebooted for
5 times, I waited a long time for KDE to start, but nothing works. Did
anybody report this problem before ??
