their is no driver line in the XF86Config-4 file.

as kernel argument i've tried :
video=atyfb:vmode17,cmode:16
which gives the same results in terms of resolution as no video driver
checked.
also :
video=fbdev:vmode17,cmode:16
giving a smaller number of pixels in width and height

it is a 1016x768 one
the third card is sonnet ata tempo.

When under DrakX i didn't see any generic kind of screen.
i have tried also fbset but it is unknown as a bash command, what is the
same for X-4 ?
