OK, I'll take your word for it. Earlier version of what worked? There was no install-radeon before 8.2, and it was specifically added for the TiBooks, which I was able to do some hands on testing with. The degree to which things work/don't work on a given machine is directly related to how much you're will to help test. So far all I see is moaning about poor FAQs, documentation, etc. etc. Have you bothered to look at the list archives at all?
