OK - so it sounds like we need the radeon driver from Ben's kernel, or an
alternate kernel.  I've been putting together an alternative Benh-Mdk
kernel, which I think I'll provide as an alternative install/system
kernel.  Would you like to test it?

I noted this in text install too.  I think the package thing was mentioned
in the main cooker list during 8.0 testing and Pixel said it was an issue
with newt.  The text installer doesn't get a whole lot of support. The
"formatting hd..." was odd, probably a missing close stanza somewhere.
