If it's a newer one you've hit the same issue as others. Changing to "fbdev" for driver may give you some X. 8.2 came out almost a year ago, before the newere TiBooks. I'm guessing X over OSX is much like Xnest, where it's not really driving the hardware itself, although I don't have OSX to know for sure.
