Stew, et al:
I completed an install of the beta2 ISO on a Wallstreet PowerBook with
no significant problems except an attempt to run "Chromium" messed
everything up so badly I had to reinstall. (I know, "Don't do that.")
As usual, the All.gz and kernel options settings are important
video=atyfb,vmode:14
However, XFree86 4.2 configuration in the installer give the correct
video card option as RAGE LT PRO and works fine.
Also, after bumping my head a few times on getting an Orinoco Silver
card to work, I just restarted as root with no hardwire net connection,
put the card in the slot, went to the Control Center Network module and
fired it up. Worked fine ever since.
Problem One - OpenOffice installs and runs, but all the menu text is
invisible. I removed it and installed the latest tar from
OpenOffice.org which runs fine except for the menu links.
Problem Two - Permissions on the CDROM have this novice stumped. Audio
CD's won't play.
Thanks for a great beta.
