I just also realised that the performance of X is much much worst with the benh kernel for the exact same configuration.
Example, with the glxgears at default size benh 2.4.20 : around 60fps old 2.4.19 : around 245fps I use de r128 driver with depth 24. Since I haven't change anything exept the kernel, I guess it's not a good thing.
