Should be a modeline there already.  They key is probably switching to
"fbdev" as the driver.

I was just looking at that code.  It's hard for me to tell how that list
of resolutions get's generated.  In the previous installers, selecting the
correct monitor was enough.

It runs LILO without asking you?  Ack that's bad. I'll look at it.

It's hard to say, I see a new XFree go by here every couple days. 
I know certain radeon are problematic on x86 too.
