I can't get the cooker stuff going at all. It won't go through the firewall. So yes, I download stuff on NT with BPFTP and then transfer it to Linux. But I don't get everything. I wish I could get the mirror to work. -----Original Message----- From: tracer [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, August 27, 1999 1:44 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: Re[2]: [Cooker] Vote for a BulletProofFTP Port to Linux Hello Thursday, Thursday, August 26, 1999, you wrote: SG> I agree. It has a few minor logistal problems in case you want to down/upload to multiple sites at the same time as it can get confused. I am sure that can be fixed easily... Like if you have 3 downloads it doesnt seem to see a file is already on the way via another screen. meaning files downloading arent properly flagged for multithreading use. Or if communicating with more then one server remembered download list from the wrong server may be accessed... Personally for slower isps like mine I like a simulteanous upload at the SAME time as my downloads... ie a mix setting as it may enable me to get 5.6 k total on my 33.6 modem. Effectively one is filling in the holes down with data going up... On my isp, 3 down, 1 up is a damned good combo(g) (any other user who knows how to fix or prevent this, email me pls !!!) Other one I use is windows commander (g) as it allows xftp but allas not to Linux sites... question Sam, do you use this to get your cooker?? Do you mind telling me in an email how you set that up in the best PRACTICAL way...
