How is lothar coming along? I have an ALS100 that no longer works at all. It used. I have got to the point of giving up on sound with Mandrake-Linux. Lothar also looks for the sample sound file in a non-existent directory. sndconfig still doesn't work. It never did.... There is nothing more frsutrating than setting up Linux and have it fail on things Windows takes in stride. Hardware detection should be the first priority with Mandrake. Linux handles 3 things of mine very poorly 1) IMPS/2 mouse 2) GD5446 video card 3) ALS100 sound card I'm stuck in Windows for productive stuff with computer......
