Yes, I know this has been an issue in the past, but I think Mr. Bernstein
has eased up a bit.  I think the only thing absolutely mandatory still is
using "/var/qmail" and that can be a symlink.  Here is info on assembling a
package:

Is this incompatible with Mandrake policy?  Dan makes some good points on
the above pages, especially about the many different sendmail versions.  It
would be a shame is there wasn't a way to work this out.

(ps, If anyone knows of a distribution that uses qmail as the default MTA,
please let me know.  Maybe one of the new security-focused Linux distros?)
