6.0 supported my Promise IDE boards. The 2.2.13 kernel in cooker does not,
or does so half-assed.

It does recognize the drives /dev/hdf1 and /dev/hdh1 at boot.

When I try to mount them:

mount /dev/hdf1 /home/mountpart

I get:

mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/hdf1 as a block device
       (maybe `insmod driver'?)

Any ideas?

If it's not done, it might be really good to include the Uniform IDE patch
into the next updated kernel images.
