reason for running 6.0, instead of 6.1, or cooker:
* 6.1. (again) doesn't work with virtula IPs properly (has that been fixed
yet).
* 6.1 doesn't support the Promise IDE cards (cooker does, but it also
reports problems mounting the drives, as I reported elsewhere).
So, for practical reasons, 6.0 works, while cooker and 6.1 don't.
By the way, I noticed that no further updates are being porvided in the 6.0
directories, now that 6.1 is out. I suspect quite a few people are still
running 6.0, and will continue to do so, hence it may be worthwhile to
continue providing updates in the 6.0 directory as well, if needed. (like
KDE and XFree, etc...)
One of the big features of Mandrake is the update functionality - which
looses its appeal if only useful for current releases.
