I just finished a complete install (including checking for bad blocks
partitioning). I used the Mdk6.1 boot.img.
1) cannot make boot disk (Make sure you have a good one before starting)
2) cannot make lilo (make sure you have an available lilo.conf file - I use
klilo to make lilo.conf and install boot loader after starting kde)
3) will not boot into Mandrake GUI (you will have to change inittab to
runlevel 3 and use startx)
4) to use kppp I had to comment out the following from /etc/conf.modules:
#alias tty-ldisc-3 ppp_async
alias char-major-108 ppp_generic
#alias ppp0 ppp_async
#alias ppp ppp_async
5) my system is up and running with the modification of XF86Config as reported
before for GD5446 - /etc/X11/XF86Config:
# Use
Option "no_bitblt"
# if you have graphics problems.
