I don't want gvim but vim, when i type :version in vim i have the
following :
:version
VIM - Vi IMproved 5.5 (1999 Sep 19, compiled Nov 21 1999 20:24:41)
Compiled by [EMAIL PROTECTED], with (+) or without (-):
+autocmd -browse +builtin_terms +byte_offset +cindent +cmdline_compl
+cmdline_info +comments +cryptv -cscope +dialog_con +digraphs
-emacs_tags +eval
+ex_extra +extra_search -farsi +file_in_path -osfiletype +find_in_path
+fork()
-GUI -hangul_input +insert_expand -langmap +linebreak +lispindent +menu
+mksession +modify_fname +mouse -mouse_dec +mouse_gpm -mouse_netterm
+mouse_xterm -multi_byte +perl +quickfix +python -rightleft +scrollbind
+smartindent -sniff +statusline +syntax +tag_binary +tag_old_static
-tag_any_white -tcl +terminfo +textobjects +title +user_commands
+visualextra
+viminfo +wildignore +wildmenu +writebackup -X11 -xfontset -xim
[...]
As you can see, the X11 support is disabled : -X11
If i do the same with the debian package, it is enabled.
The result of :help title
When Vim was compiled with HAVE_X11 defined, the original title
will be restored if possible. The output of ":version" will include
"+X11" when HAVE_X11 was defined, otherwise it will be "-X11". This
also works for the icon name |'icon'|.
I found workaround which is not satisfying :
$ unset DISPLAY
$ gvim <file>
It produces a Gtk-Warning message which is normal and runs in term mode.
I can't unset my display every time i need that :) And Gtk is slow to
detect that there is no avalaible display (~1sec for the whole start)
if the answer is really rpm -qpi something, please ban me from this list
as i subscribe yesterday :-)
thanks,
