And rpm let you upgrade libgtop without complaining about that ?
... Indeedd the package wrongly reports to provide something it doesn't
(Provides:... linesare bad)

Nowhere; you are supposed to update your libgtop dependent programs.
But te libgtop rpm should have been correct... rebuilding.
(the error is in the spec file; a Provides: line to remove)
