Guys,
I installed detect-0.9.29-4mdk (the thing which sits under lothar) from
the Oxygen beta and it is still crashing both of my machines. Complete
freeze.
Now, I will take the details of this to the lothar-devel mailing list
but I really want to emphasise that the Mandrake team should test this
exhaustively or you'll be in for a very hard time with your users.
I _may_ be a statistical anomoly, but these machines are quite different
- one is a 3yo socket7 MMX and the other is a 1yo Celeron. Quite
different audio, video and and networking cards in each. Last time I
investigated this the crashing appeared to be occurring in different
places within 'detect'.
So. Please be cautious.
