Pixel,
Doing a rsync://rpmfind.net/linux/MandrakeCooker/oxygen/ download of
about 90 minutes ago and a fresh initial installation reveals that the
problem persists.
A check showed that the kfm from kdebase-1.1.2-27mdk was being used.
I have received no evidence of any action following my reporting that
KDiskFree (kdf) is missing from the 7.0 b RPMs and installation program.
New Event 1: The debug.log and install.log left in my /root are both
positively littered with installation problem reports - mainly missing files.
The install is Custom, Development, with everythig checked except Web Server.
The target machine is a leaf on a small 2-machine LAN, and NIS was unchecked.
Nevertheless at runtime it is trying (and failing) to set up NIS.
